Our Story
Shelter life for dogs is far from their natural state of living, and this is critical in relation to how closely dogs are attuned to their natural instincts. In addition the shelter environment can be stressful for many dogs, no matter how good the care. After intake and careful evaluation, some dogs are determined to benefit from special foods, dietary supplements and sometimes medication that most shelters cannot afford. Beyond that, training in basic obedience commands, though more importantly, their adjustment to domestic expectations as this is the knowledge they will take home when they get adopted. Given help, many dogs realize that the relationship with a human can be an amazing experience, even if the way they were raised prior to entering the shelter may not have been good for them. With all of this said, please understand the importance of donations to nonprofit organizations, any and all donations given to the Unleashed Foundation will help supplement these special needs.
