Marian Eccles has been training dogs semi-professionally for over 30 years. After working with numerous trainers with varying methods and hands-on self education and research she was able to make it her full time, professional career, becoming certified in 2020. Through her experience she found there is no single way to train a dog. She has learned that working with the knowledge of the behavior and instincts of the canine is the best way to identify what kind training will serve each dog best. Positive reinforcement, as well as fair and firm corrections create a balanced and engaging way of training. Marian is also an evaluator for the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. Puppy program. Marian can be contacted for private training sessions for people and their dogs, but most of her time is spent working with staff, volunteers, customers and dogs at the local Dog & Cat Shelter in Sheridan, WY where she lives with her family and pack of dogs.
